It was top versus bottom today at "The Recs" as Alloa crashed 3-0 to the league leaders Gretna. Alloa included new signing Steve Hamilton and Allan Creer to their side as the hoped to gain something from the match. The game started evenly until new keeper Creer decided to do a step-over and lost the ball to David Graham who narrowly shot past the post. Soon after Graeme Brown had a chance to put "The Wasps" 1-0 ahead when he was one on one with Main and tried to chip him from around 16 yards but Main rose to save. David McGeown then had a shot past the post. Alloa piled on the early pressure in the first 15 minutes but it wasn't to be their day when a free-kick wasn't cleared and Townsley fired low to Creer's left hand post on 28 minutes. Stevenson tried to pull a goal back for Alloa when he went on a solo run only to hit the ball over the bar from 20 yards. Half Time 1-0

Second Half- Again Alloa started brightly with Stevenson having a similiar chance to Brown's chance in the first half only to hit it straight at Main which he saved comfortably. New signing Steve Hamilton then gave away a penalty which he received a yellow card for and Ryan McGuffie comfortably slotted the penalty to Creer's right hand post sending him the wrong way. Then bizzarly to the Alloa fans' amazement John Grant who was added from the under 19's squad was sent off for a tackle on Steve Tosh which looked nothing malicious like and the referee must have seen something that nobody else could have seen in the ground. To make things worse for 10 man Alloa Gavin Skelton's low shot found itself to Creer's left hand corner and made the score 3-0. Alloa mad's MOM - Chris Townsley
