Alloa 0-1 Brechin- Match Report

Trouten maintains City run

Alan Trouten scored a second-half winner as Brechin claimed a crucial 1-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Alloa.

The hosts enjoyed the better of the first-half exchanges and could have taken the lead in the 25th minute when Mitchel Megginson headed over Daryll Meggatt's delicious cross.

Despite their early pressure, the Wasps nearly found themselves behind 10 minutes later, when Gerard McLauchlan failed to guide the ball inside the near post after meeting a David McKenna free-kick.

Alloa's Ryan McCord was left frustrated after the re-start, with his long-range strike producing a superb save from Michael Andrews to tip over.

Trouten made the home side pay for their missed chances in the 53rd minute by curling home an unstoppable effort from 20 yards to extend the Hedgemen's unbeaten run to ten games.
