Alloa 1-2 Dumbarton- Match Report

Agnew spot-on for Sons

Scott Agnew's second-half penalty was the difference between the sides as Dumbarton beat Alloa 2-1.

The visitors started brightly but had to wait until the second minute of first-half stoppage time to get on the scoresheet.

Sons defender Andrew Graham poked the ball past Alloa goalkeeper Scott Bain from the middle of the box.

Alloa piled on the pressure in the early stages on the second half and it was not long before they were back on level terms.

Ryan McCord's corner found Stephen Simmons, who lashed the ball past Jamie Ewings from six yards out to make it 1-1 in the 54th minute.

Dumbarton sealed all three points in the 71st minute when Agnew scored from the spot after Graeme Holmes had fouled Graham.
