Alloa battle back for victory

A second-half double from Kevin Cawley saw Alloa come from behind to beat Peterhead 2-1.

The hosts were denied the lead after just 12 minutes when Peterhead goalkeeper Raymond Jellema superbly tipped Cawley's effort wide.

Peterhead took the lead in the 28th minute when former Inverness striker Rory McAllister fired a free kick into the bottom corner from 25 yards after Ryan Harding fouled Bryan Deasley.

Alloa stormed out of the blocks after half-time and Cawley latched onto Ryan McCord's pass to slot home the equaliser only 24 seconds after the restart.

And the turnaround was complete after 66 minutes when McCord again found Cawley who curled into the top corner from 12 yards to put the Wasps in front.

Peterhead were denied an equaliser three minutes later when Martin Bavidge's header was tipped over by Scott Bain and Deasley volleyed a late chance wide as Alloa held on.
