Clark wins it

Nicky Clark was the hero for Queen of the South as they recorded their fifth straight league win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Alloa.

The league leaders made a strong start to the game and had no shortage of early chances. The best of these fell to Clark, whose 20-yard drive was punched to safety by Scott Bain in the Alloa goal in the 10th minute.

Alloa hit back in the second half but the home side defended well and never looked like conceding.

Shortly after re-start, Clark hit his seventh goal of the season to put his side ahead.

Alloa pushed for an equaliser, but Clark's goal was enough to seal all three points for The Doonhamers.
